September 25, 2018 at 11:23 am in reply to: Elvis Deane’s Website resource page appears to be goneI also wanted to add that I bought the The Apprentice Magician’s Guide to particleIllusion 3 and Cooking with particleIllusion a few years ago and I only use very rarely. I had to move and didn’t know what happend to them. However I dug out the old email receipt and the download links still work so I was able to get them again. Thanks.

Strange they replied to me very quickly… Did you put in your support ticket at:
as suggested by Francois. That is where I did. I was just asking because you mentioned Wondertouch and I do not know if anyone monitors that website.

I was just surprised that it was slow because I have a new 15 In mac book pro and other things run fine. I was testing blender with 3d particles with no problems and Carrara too. Anyway I only do effects for animation as I am an aspiring animator. I do want to stick with particles as I do need control over those other parameters. I was just thinking of staying with 2d compositing. As I said Particle Illusion worked but unfortunately I cannot upgrade the OS past Yosemite or it will not run. I guess I will keep my old os or create a parralles just to run that one program.

Thanks. Unfortunately this turns all the particles in the layer to the main image color but does not turn the transparency so it does not work either. (it covers the character and background whereas I only want the character covered) I was going to try another idea but when I add enough particles to cover the character Motion gets really slow and I get a spinning beachball for minutes at a time. I never had that problem with other software. I ever tried turning particle image off and still really slow.
It looks like I should look elsewhere for particles. I am actually trying to replace Particle Illusion which was great for this type of thing and really fast.

That does make an interesting effect for something like a ghost but is not what I need. I want to fade out the image and have the particles retain their color over the life of the particle as they slowly fall. To make a disintegrate effect. With stencil Alpha even if I duplicate the image and put it on top and fade it out still the particles only appear where the image is.
