    put a little reverb on it. the sony express reverb (or whatever sony fx your copy of vegas has) has a “small night club” preset. play with the room size and liveliness sliders. when it sounds ok, dial the reverb down to 20-25%. ‘course, if you have perfect space or lexicon, you’ll have more choices.

    you’re right, david. the rendered clip played fine in vegas trimmer/preview, and when converted to flash.

    interestingly, i’ve found that WMV is a good intermediate when going from vegas (HDV original) to flash for some content. for this piece, it looked better than the MOV and AVI w/Cineform.i clicked on it in windows explorer just to see that it ran, looked up and saw the grey black. i won’t get fooled again. (thanks to the who…)

    rendered to WMV.

    best
    quality VBR
    872×480
    PAR=1
    29.97
    keyframe every 3 sec
    quality 100%
    stretch to fill

    i guess it’s a non-issue. i use WMV as an intermediate on my way to Flash. there are no borders around the flash movie, i was just concerned that i may have overlooked something in vegas.

    thanks again for your help.

    The text was generated w/ProType. No FX on the track or the event.
