  • “im tryhing to rotate the wings seperately” is a response to whether both the body and the wings are on the same layer… i dont think you guys understand what i mean.

i dont care if the whole body moves as one shape… the fact theres two layers is irregardless. All im trying to do is to rotate the layer and it simply doesnt rotate evenly.

thanks for the help guys but i think this is some kind of bug i managed to create.

    thanx for the help.

  • my aim is not to just rotate them aimlessly… im trying to build a composition with a lot of rotating shapes and this is just one test. 3D or not, im using the layers rotation attributes and this is the result. i’ve tried it without the effects and still happens.

    thanx for the help.

  • the wings are one layer. the anchor point is dead in the middle of them. and the zspace as identical to the other layer, which shouldnt matter anyways because im only trying to rotate the wings seperately and it creates the jump every time…

it looks as if the lyaer of the wings is trying to resize itself when it is flipped…it gets squahsed so to say…why would that happen? i’ve never seen that happen in 5 years of using AE

    thanx for the help.

  • there you go…

its with a butterfly composed of two layers now, but essentially the same thing..every time i rotate the body or the rest of it it jumps at the exact point where i snapped the image…that seems to be at 45 degrees if im not mistaken, and the once again 45dgrs before its done a full rotation…

theres hardly anything there…its 720×576 comp. it has an adjustment layer with a tiny mask in the shape of a flower. the mask has 3d stroke on it. there are no lights/shadows/depth of field or anythign like that..just the flower shape with 3d stroke applied to it, and a camera. i guess this plugin is just heavy on the software.

i didn have depth of field..but even without it its abnormally slow…

im used to working on massive compositions with many layers psd, video, and drawn, and moving a camera about without any problems…the image is normally updated in an instance..but in this composition all ihave is one or two empty adjustment layers with 3d stroke masks in them… why would it take AE so long to update the image for me in comparison to a massive compositions with many layers and effects…

is trapcode just that heavy of a plugin?

    thanx for the help.

  • sorry that’s a bit confusing… what do you mean it will look the same as my comp?

maybe i explained wrong…ive got a comp..and in this comp i have raw animation ive made from scratch. in additon to that raw animation i also have a lossless full quality video i rendred from AE7…. so when i put that into the comp with the UNrendered animation, and render it all as lossless, it wont lose quality?

    thanx again

    thanx for the help.
