what are the video/audio connections to the m100?

are you using convergent design box to convert to hdsdi or does your Version of m100 allow for component in?

i am waiting for the sony hvr-1500 that i have had on order for quite a whi e now.
i am looking to upgrade to hd suite and as i understand it, the m100 has sdi/hdsdi in only.

can the hd suite accept firewire directly from the recorder for hd in? again i understand that m100 cannot work with hdv so do you have to convert it on the way in?

    thanks.

i know thats what m100 stated last year but according to their web site, it is now how i stated it in my previous post.

although i am looking forward to t is update and also expected it in q1, i’m not dissapointed having to wait a little longer.

im going for the hd suite update.

    cheers

M100 will be showcasing V11.6 at NAB. 11.6 is UB so we will have to wait until at least then for an Intel compliant system.

February 19, 2007 at 4:58 am in reply to: Is the Dell 2407 or 2707 up to….

As you have stated on this forum many, many times before, I will need LOTS of money in this industry, however not many of us do have lots of money – me included, so the 42″ or 50″ plasmas seem like a great happy medium between cost and performance.

I asked Walter whether he has the HD-SDI option in his 42″ unit. Do you believe it necessary or will component do as an initial start?

    Thanks
    David

    Thanks Walter,

Do you have the HD-SDI option installed as well?

[Bob Zelin] “If you have even less money, taking the Kona LH output and going right into the Dell 2407 24″ monitor will show you the full HD resolution,”

    Bob,

Would that configuration be acceptable for you to set up a HD suite that would edit from HDV derived cameras (but not necesarily edit in HDV format) or would you prefer the quality of the Panasonic BT-LH2600W? Or for that matter is the Dell 2707 27″ monitor acceptable as well?

I know there is a price difference between the 2 brands but is the panasonic that much better because of say HD-SDI in?

    Thanks

    Hey Jim,

I cannot begin to imagine your frustrations. So, with all of Producer’s problems on your computer, are you in a position to seriously consider re installing your OS X operating system from scratch, meaning dumping EVERYTHING from your Mac HD (well keep a record of what you have installed).

Then install Producer only and try it again. If all is OK, introduce ONE package at a time – ie: Photoshop. Then try again. After Effects (if you have it) etc.

It seems that you may have a conflict somewhere or some file(s) is/are corrupt.

Maybe, just maybe this last resort effort might help you.

    What are your thoughts?

    Best wishes
    David

  • [Jim Wigler] “I am a LONG TIME Media 100 user and I can’t believe I allowed them to screw me over again.”

I am a 12 year veteran of Media 100, albeit in SD for now. I have NEVER felt that I have been screwed over by Media 100 at any time during my ownership. In fact, I’m so glad I chose it over Avid. I use it on an almost daily basis with great results.

I am so sorry you are having problems but there must be a solution to each of them. Perhaps you should take a step back and try to address each issue carefully.

What is your entire setup – computer, RAM, HDD, etc?

As Floh mentioned, check your preferences settings. Lots to choose from as you know. What format of video are you trying to acquire and are you attempting to transcode it (if that is possible in Producer – not sure. Trash preferences and try again. Run Disk Utility. Do you run Producer with other open programs?

Retrace your steps. Does this happen to every project or is it confined to this one? Bad media?

Yes, you have a bit of a challenge ahead to sort out those issues and I hope you find that Media 100 is NOT the culprit.

    All the best
    David
