another point i was thinking about. surprisingly adobe was not terribly helpful. not sure if the phone operator really understood the issue.

oh welll, i will just have to use ae on my dual 2ghz power mac till i receive my free ae cs3 update shortly.

Oh yes, I loaded AE AFTER I loaded M100. So I think that I should reload M100 so it can recognise AE and AE recognise it. Hopefully that should do the trick.

thanks for the tip but i already tried that trick. see my first post. no good with that option.

so, i re installed OSX and iam setting up 2 hdds – one with fcp & all things kona and osx and the other with media100 (the reason i bought it) and never the two shall meet.

all ok no conflicts now. it was media100 and kona v3.4 at war with each other trying to take control of the aja board.

every setting is how it should be for sd pal and all i/p & o/p set right with monitoring set to composite.

i even switched o/p but without success.

point is, as a stand alone unit, no i/p free running internally generated test o/p, still mono & rolling.

faulty card? faulty pins?

Sounded like it was the logical solution but I just haven’t got around to trying it as I input my HDV via HDSDI and I really needed to know how to master back to HDV or DVCAM if and when necessary.

All my other video source inputs to my M100 will be SDSDI.

I create such things on a regular basis using QT Pro’s export to MPEG4, multiplexing the audio as well.

For 3 mins, you will need to experiment with a number of compression values, but I don’t have any trouble with it myself.

Looks quite OK. Just find the best balance between your audio & video compression. If you can split the clip into 2, that would be better. Let us know how you fare.
