We had this problem recently thanks to a moronic editor. But worked around it….

We: 1. Went back into fcp
    2. Media managed and created offline sequence
    3. Opened new offline sequence (still with faulty tcode, but correct clip names)
    4. Media relinked to lowres proxies in RCDs (xxxxx_P)’ ignore code diff, and magic names relink.
(note proxies have correct tod timecode)
    5. Export new edl,
    6. Open in text edit and find and replace all _p.mov with .mov
    7. Then you should have tc accurate edl with TOD timecode

    Thanks for that.

Could someone from BM officially say if the 10.6.7 is a good update for anyone without 4000’s?

Assume no other issues with red rocket or Gtx 285/ 120.

  • We are having exact same issues as you both. Any ideas?

March 17, 2011 at 8:41 pm in reply to: Limiter

The davinci limiter seems to do the trick. But adding supers, flares and comps can change that.

We just finished a McDonalds TVC (35mm/red to resolve to smoke) the final output on the smoke (via AJA) was showing serious gamut red issues (on bm ultrascopes) mostly on the maccas furry red end frame.

We run everything off to hdcam-sr via the Harris DL-860p legalizer. It’s bullet proof and never had a failure/ tech reject! Best investment we made (other than our davinci that is).

We’ve had great results in Sydney with 7.1.

Running with the JVC X9 projector, samsung 55″ consumer tvs and also the 26″ panasonic 3d offering.

Ther process is fairly painless and speedy!

March 17, 2011 at 8:32 pm in reply to: h264 color shift: time to solve

We use the matrix encoder, and we’ve had outstanding results. They recently released updates to address iPad h264s at 24p.

They also have options for colour space conversion, hardware scaling, and hw noise reduction.

    Cheers
