  • I see, I waited 4 hours and as you said it finished but now my computer crashes every time I try a render after 30-1.5 hours. I reinstalled 10.7.4 which I didn’t want to do, but Apple is like big brother won’t let you start up with a different drive just hangs, so Premiere cs 6.01 and 10.7.4 for myself is just a night mare that’s getting worse….

  • Hi I tried that but heard no difference with headphones on, I’ve been having a lot of issues with this subject (the project has only ambient sounds) UCLA directing project.

My issue is the Zoom recorder was in stereo and having only one boom mic it obviously recorded in one track. Since I didn’t set the preferences for mono to be mono PP always puts my audio on the right since that’s where it was recorded. My current workaround has been to export out a mono track and after resetting the preferences the mono is set to stereo, which splits it but the standard tracks will not pan in the audio mixer if I try panning i get no audio unless the mix is center or right channel. I’m not familiar enough with PP to understand what is happening.

Hi I am using a macbook pro i7 16gb of ram and I bought 4 crucial 512 mb SSD drives using the AJA system test I see 250mb/s write and 450mb/s read using the SSD I also use a 3.0 gb/s esata card and monoprice 2 drive bay also 3.0 gb/s and I am seeing about 105-9 mb/s write and 125 mb/s read if I use my FW800 drive with a Hitachi travelstar 7200rpm drive i only see 25-35mb/s depending on the chipset of the enclosure.

What I’m trying to say is, your FW is probably too slow for the playback… That said, I can’t really scrub quickly in Premiere using my setup but I am using an AMD 6770 GPU however, Adobe now allows certain AMD GPU’s to run the Mercury playback but you have to be on 10.73 or something like that. I have two laptops and one is on 10.7 and the render is faster by 30% so I would assume my playback is improved as well.

    Hope this helps.

  • LAME, I have quit everything in the activity monitor and nothing is fixing my problem, once I quit the update app I can’t update…

I am really hating CS6 its corrupting all my project files seriously wasted a week.

Hi group, I’ve been using the roto all week, I don’t understand this situation; I roto the person and refine every frame as I go, I see the render line catch up and move ahead, at 7″ I lose the entire selection and the brush will not let me create a new one or continue with the old one.

I’ve tried to render it out and it the clip simply ends, I tried to grab the part that is missing and bring it into AE but that is also not working. I can play the entire 10″ clip in Premiere any ideas?

    Hi,

I’m sure you’re right, I just think if Adobe’s tutorial says 20 frames it should be close to it, but you’re 100% correct, I realize time is the only thing that helps, plus practice. I just wish there was an easier way to understand what is the best method, or I wish (coming from photoshop) the effects were named the same so I could say go to this but I realize, adobe bought the various apps from other vendors and never renamed tools (same in illustrator)

Hi I’ve never heard of the rotoscope tool, I just used AE for the first time the other day, will give it try. wish I would have known!!!

    Thanks DF

  • Hi can’t quite figure out how to run this script. I’m on a Mac………

  • Hi that’s not what I mean, I can open the project in 5 or 5.5 but if you look at the project (archived project) it now show it’s icon as a CS6 project and if you try to change all to 5.5 or 5.0 it will not stick and revert to 6 only.

I’ve never seen any app do this behavior before.

I’ll try that, but I created some masks and refined them but I can see the edges, not understanding how to feather correctly, I have to say being a photoshop guy, AE is really similar and I could get into this app. but I can’t figure out how to watch my project as it renders one frame at a time to play.

Driving me crazy, having to learn to play a project sucks…
