Vegasaur’s Quick Properties has an event tab that you can set playback rate to .5 and check the “adjust length”. You can apply it to all your events at once! Let me know if that helps. Thanks!

I have found that Timeline Tools will slow down everything I do. I shut it down and sometimes restart to clear it and speed things up. I hope that helps.

  • OK. I see. I don’t know of a way to automatically group all the clips to the respective audio clip at once, but you can select multiple tracks using Vegasaurs select events tab. In that way you can select both tracks with one button, then group them. You could also use the selection tool and drag across both events and hit Group (G). It’s not automatic, but it would be faster and easier than shift clicking the clips 2 at a time. I hope that helps. Let me know. Thanks!

  • Your audio should already be grouped to the video. One reason it would not be grouped is the “Ignore Event Grouping” button that would cause them to select individually. You can check in the Options dropdown, or hit Ctrl+Shift+U. Let me know if that helps. Thanks!

  • I’m not sure if this is the problem your having, but I often have a similar problem if I double click the beginning of an event it Expands track Layers. The solution is to right click on the layer on the far left side and uncheck Expand track layers…or you can also double click on the beginning of the event again. Let me know if this helps. Thanks!

  • Awesome Thanks!

  • You double the play length, but the event end does not adjust to double. The event on the timeline is still only the length of the original 100% play back rate. So I need a way to show the entire play length at 50% speed.
So if the event was 5 secs long, adjusting the playback rate or velocity to 50% makes the 5 sec clip 10 secs long. But the event still ends after 5 secs. I need a way to double multiple events after setting the 50% playback rate/velocity so I can view the entire clip that I have selected.

  • But the event doesn’t change to 10 secs when I adjust the velocity…it’s still only 5 secs, so the last half is not available until I adjust the event end to show it. I need a quick easy way to get the second half back after setting the velocity to 50% for multiple events. I figured on using Placement> Intervals > Then Change Duration to Markers in Vegasaur, but I am getting the looped events which I have to go and cut down again anyway. I need it to adjust only as far as the end of the clip, then stop. If I need to go about it in a different way and not use velocity I am fine with that. Just need it to apply to multiple events or be easily applied to multiple events (ie keyboard shortcuts/Vegasaur/Ultimate S options). Thanks!

You got some very good ideas to work with here. You may also want to try some quick color correction to pull down the purple in the top left corner. I know that isn’t what you were asking about, but it would be a quick easy fix that could make a big difference in the look of your video.
Let me know if that works for you. Thanks!

Using Macros are a good way to create an easy script using multiple keystrokes or mouse clicks. For example, using the example of creating subclips the keystrokes would be (Right click, B).

You can use a macro keyboard and a program like Microsoft Keyboard and Mouse to program it.
