February 19, 2013 at 9:42 pm in reply to: Final Cut Pro XML issue when imported in to PProThanks for the suggestions everyone. We had to find a workaround where the timeline was converted into a FCP7 project then exported via that. I don’t know if he’d made changes at all but it appears to be working ok now on the new xml.
Thanks again everyone, it appears that iMovie 9 won’t export HD xml files!

February 17, 2013 at 11:36 pm in reply to: Final Cut Pro XML issue when imported in to PProThat’s what I did and it’s not happening. The only way I can get it to fit is to resize it which obviously diminishes the quality even further :-/

September 4, 2012 at 8:15 pm in reply to: premiere Pro CS6 playing After Effects projects with dropped framesThis issue is still occuring and I’m presuming it must be a PPro issue.
Just to re-iterate here is the flow of the problem…
1. Select PPro Clip in Timeline
2. Right click > Replace with after effects composition
3. Edit clip in After Effects
4. In PPro click Edit > Undo so as not to replace clip
5. Render out AE project as Cineform AVI to 3TB USB 3.0 Ext. Harddrive
6. Check clip (works fine)
7. Select AE Project and layer on top of original clip in PPro
8. Check clip in timeline > Plays back with black frames
9. Check Rendered AE Project > Now freezes when first black frame appears on clip in PProPlease, can anyone help? This driving me insane!
16GB RAM, Intel i7, Windows 7 Ultimate, 500GB Harddrive, all clips saved to 3TB USB 3.0 Ext. Harddrive.
I have run After Effects and Premiere in various guises for years and never suffered this problem before.

August 29, 2012 at 4:04 pm in reply to: premiere Pro CS6 playing After Effects projects with dropped framesYeah the res settings are the same and the scratch disk is a 3TB ext Hdd that the rendered files are stored upon. Strange isn’t it!

August 23, 2012 at 4:58 pm in reply to: premiere Pro CS6 playing After Effects projects with dropped framesThe AE rendered AVI file plays fine in a normal media player (media player classic)but when added to the PPro timeline it plays with what I can only assume are dropped frames, when I go back to the AE Rendered AVI and play in media player again, it suddenly starts freezing at the point the first dropped frame appears on the copy of the file in the timeline.
Does that make sense?

June 19, 2012 at 10:01 pm in reply to: Color Finesse III worked, now it’s reverted to trial mode!I’m not sure to be honest, it is definitely CF3 but everything was already pre-installed on the laptop when I bought it, that’s why I bought it (2nd hand)
I can’t remember if I have the serial somewhere or not as I have never needed it 🙁

Right, ok gotcha, I may have to look at AE CS5.5 when I can then. After discussing this with an acquaintance tonight also, he said he has had this same issue (the dynamic link one) recently despite having the full 5.5 master collection. This occurred as he was making the switch to a new job and Final Cut so he never got the fix.
Is there a simple fix to this? I wanna make sure when I make the step it’s nice and painless…

Oh, bugger 🙁
Do the CS4 plugins (Color Finesse, Looks etc) work with CS5.5?

Might be worth mentioning as well, I capture the video files via a card reader and then convert them using Cineform…
