    Is this possible?

Just upgraded PPro to CS5.5 and I want to continue using AE CS4 as it has all my plugins and I can’t afford the full suite. I just tried a clip to see if I could link (right click > Replace with After Effects Composition) and I get the following message:

“Using Adobe Dynamic Link with Adobe After Effects requires Adobe Production Premium”

Does this mean it’s not possible or is there an easy fix?

You can only use Dynamic Link between applications of the same version (CS6 with CS6).

    Oh, bugger 🙁

Do the CS4 plugins (Color Finesse, Looks etc) work with CS5.5?

Plug-ins for After Effects CS4 are 32-bit plug-ins and do not work with 64-bit versions of After Effects (CS5 and later).

Of course, After Effects CS5 and later come with 64-bit Color Finesse.

Right, ok gotcha, I may have to look at AE CS5.5 when I can then. After discussing this with an acquaintance tonight also, he said he has had this same issue (the dynamic link one) recently despite having the full 5.5 master collection. This occurred as he was making the switch to a new job and Final Cut so he never got the fix.

Is there a simple fix to this? I wanna make sure when I make the step it’s nice and painless…
