One other note. It carries the audio, but not the video. Tried 3 different cables, hooked it up directly my HDTV to make sure the signal coming in was working, etc. It’s all good. Narrowed it down to the Kona. Only thing I changed was the driver, thus my suspicion…

    Yep. Sure did.

I had just upgraded to my Mac Pro, so I did a full clean install. You could try either, I suppose. If it works, great. If not, try the other way. Let me know if it works! Don’t forget to repair disk permissions when you’re done.

    Hi Jesse,

The only fix I found – and yes, it DID fix the problem even though it’s a pain to do – is to reinstall OS 10.5.8 after you’ve physically installed the Kona Lhi. THEN download and install the latest NDD (make sure it’s NDD, otherwise your monitors will be screwed up) driver.

It took me a while to do, but it worked. The static issue has not returned. Let me know if it works for you.

    Best,

    Dave

The tech specs say the Panasonic VIERA X1 Series TC-P42X1 accepts 60hz, but when I set the output to 720p60, but the image won’t play, it’s frozen on the HD monitor.

Just had this issue last week. Exact same thing. Look for my other posts.

Don’t know which of the following fixed the problem, but I did all of them, and the static is no longer a problem:

1.) I moved the Kona LHi to slot #4.

    2.) Reinstalled OS 10.5.8

3.) Donwloaded and installed LHi driver v6.0.5 NDD (Don’t use the other one – it’ll screw up you monitors if you’re using the wrong video card)

4.) Reinstalled Final Cut Pro 6.0.6

5.) Repaired disk permissions on hard drive.

Pain in the butt, but it did the trick. Let me know if you’re successful. I haven’t had the static burst since.

  • Thanks, guys. Tried the new NDD driver, didn’t work at first. Reinstalled OS 10.5.8 and tried the new drivers again. Works great now. Thank you!

Also, the static from the Kona card went away as well, so it looks to be a reasonable fix. Appreciate it much!

Unfortunately, even with the right Kona card settings, I’m still having the problem.
