I’ve commented on this before. We will support XDCAM in the future, I can clearly state this because it is something that we HAVE to do. There are a lot of engineering details that have to be worked out and we have been working these for the last few months. We need to demux the data stream and have access to or develop codecs that will play back the data and all that stuff. We do support direct connection the way a traditional deck would connect to Media 100, so your investment would still work if your EX device contained those connections (I am not schooled on all of the EX devices yet so forgive me if I am incorrect).
So, bottom line, we hear you and we’re working on it; and that is the best I can give you at this moment. I believe Boris was mis-quoted at Video Expo stating that XDCam support was imminent, it’s not that close but we are making progress. As I obtain more information I will pass it on.
Thanks!

However, there is so little positive about the company and the future of Media 100.
Joe,
I don’t know where you get this notion. Boris FX has been in the industry for many years and has a proven track record of delivering products. Ever since Boris has purchased the company there has been nothing but a steady stream of positive news and products coming from Media 100. For 2 years we have delivered more releases than Media 100 or Optibase did in the same time frame, and we are about to start talking about our next release. So, take Boris’ 15 or so years in the industry and look at what we have done with development with Media 100 and you will see the future looks pretty good. Is there the marketing machine behind Media 100 like there used to be, absolutely not. But we are still making good solid products for our customers. I’ve listed the major Media 100 releases since Boris purchased Media 100:
Oct-05 Boris FX purchase of Media 100
Dec-05 Release of Media 100i 8.2.3 for Mac OS Tiger Support
Jun-06 Release of V11, Intro AJA Hardware, PCI-E
Sep-06 V11.5 Support for P2 Format
Oct-06 V11.5.1 Release of Media 100 Producer, DV I/O
Apr-07 V11.6 Support for Intel Macintosh Computers Univ.Bin.
Jul-06 V11.6.2 Apple Pro Res Support
Oct-07 Media 100 V12, Progressive Frame Support, Boris Filter Integration
Dec-07 Support for Mac OS 10.5 Leopard for Media 100 Producer
Jan-08 Hardware based support for new Mac OS LeopardThanks for considering Media 100!

Probably not a lot. If you ever plan on upgrading, hold onto it. It’s your ticket to a discount if you upgrade to a newer Media 100 system. That is probably where most of the value is at this point.

So many things could cause this issue. Start with the troubleshooting part of the manual. There is a section in there that will give you a start.
Deck control comes to mind first.Dave

Boy,
You guys beat me to the announcement. 12.1.2 is the full release of the Hardware version of Media 100. This version supports Leopard and Tiger. There is also a corresponding version of Media 100 Producer and Producer Suite. We released this Producer version only to keep the version numbers the same. If you have 12.1.1 installed and you are running Leopard you should update. There is also no harm in updating from other versions either. The main fix for this release is the 23.98 frame rates are now supported. There was an outstanding bug that we needed consulting from AJA on to fix.

10.4.3 and QT 7.1. That’s as far we will go with approval for Media 100i.

Just curious. How many people currently use or plan to use this codec in their workflow. It seems almost monthly now there is a new codec or format that we cannot live without.
Just wondering.
