    That’s cool also, but it also gave me the idea of directly changing the rgb values using the checkbox, that way I avoid the gradation between the colors that comes when using keyframes.

    Thanks a lot, guys.

    Good idea, thanks!

  • Thanks man, I sorted it out by deleting a layer with a couple of (not fancy at all) plug ins applied to it.

    I posted it here, in case anyone needs some extra info:
    https://forums.adobe.com/message/6515078

    To elaborate a bit further, my files are openEXR with a lot of 3D channels in them, I was running them through EXtractoR, however the faulty layer was the one that didn’t have that applied, but Brightness and Contrast and Tint.

    My machine is an imac with a 3.4ghz processor and a 2gb amd radeon graphics card, I have 32gb ram and the project is extremely simple, there isn’t any animation in it, I was just making still frames for the storyboard, so my footage was one frame long.

    I’m using the dame exr file over and over, though, like 11 times with different channels extracted from it.

    Also, this was the first or second time I used AE CC 2014, so far I’ve been sticking to CC.

    And yes, yesterday google literally returned nothing related to the error, today everything it shows is related to this post or the one I created at adobe.com

    Thanks!
    D.

    You can also use Effect>Channel>Invert and then the blending mode, either screen or multiply, depending on which color you want to key out.

  • I hope so, my machine will be out of warranty in two weeks.

    Thanks.

  • They disappear at a full, half and third resolution, as expected. It only happens at quarter resolution.

    Thanks,
    David.

  • That’s a great suggestion, I’ll keep it mind for future occasions. Thanks for your help and patience.

    For anyone that might be experiencing the same issue, take a look at this thread instead, Kevin Camp’s method worked perfectly.

  • Thanks man, you saved my weekend!!

  • Here’s the main problem I’m running into:

    My longest word is Philippines, which is 11 characters, so I should be drawing a box that covers all that and set the max amount to 11. That works perfect, but the scale is 100%, nothing has been modified.

    Then when I change the word to Japan, for example, the scale doesn’t cover the whole word (please see attached), in the same fashion, if I type anything longer it doesn’t work either.

    Perhaps is because the expression can’t account for the different space that each letter occupies?

    I ended up using a completely different solution, provided by Kevin Camp, which actually works better because it takes care of whatever difference each letter may have in shape and thickness, so the bounding box is always precise regardless of the length of the word, but if you don’t mind I’d like to understand why this is not working as it’s supposed to (most likely because I’m doing it wrong).

    Thanks again!

    max = 11; // characters at 100%
    n = thisComp.layer("txt").text.sourceText.length;
    [(n/max)*value[0],value[1]]

  • In case anyone find this useful I added the modifiable outline by duplicating the layer with all the effects Kevin mentioned except cc composite and I added a find edges effect at the bottom of the stack, then I inverted it. Works great.

    Thanks!
