  • By the way, I’m not using it to drive text but increasing the value of a parameter at irregular intervals. I started using loopOut (“offset”) but I need the time in between to be different each time.

  • Hey Kevin, this expression does exactly what I need, except that it jumps in whole increments, i.e. goes straight from 2 to 3 and I need it to go 2, 2.01, 2.02, etc all the way to 3 and so on. Basically add a linear expression into yours; but I’m not very clear on where to integrate the missing code, do you mind helping with that?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hey Brian,

No, nothing is animated. It’s just an illustration. All other xRefs are behaving correctly, only this one is weird.

No idea, forgot to check that. But I no longer have it. I deleted the original polygon and replaced it with the one I created of the cylinder.

    Hey Adam,

I converted it to an editable spline, otherwise it wouldn’t allow the use of the project tool.
I copied both elements into a new project and still wouldn’t work, so I created a new cylinder, made it editable and deformed it to match the curvature of the original object. Then I hid the original and projected the spline onto the new cylinder; then worked correctly. I used xy plane projection. After that I deleted the cylinder and unhid my original shape.

I’m still not sure what was wrong with the first object, but the problem laid with that, not the spline, maybe because it was triangulated? Very weird.

Thanks for taking the time to look into it.

  • Just stumbled into this old thread searching for another thing.

David Johnson, I think the OP wanted to know how to copy only the easy ease data, not the entire keyframe, which is what you described.

There’s a script called Ease and Wizz, that more or less allow you to replicate the ease on the keyframes. You can modify the values of the variables to make it more customized, but the presets seem to work just fine.

    Yep, that was it.
    Thanks Dan.
