Cool, Andy, thanks man, figured there must be something in the app to make this work.
Just tried it.
Difficult to get it to work in 3D space, seems artificial, and I can’t get the dang leaves to stop spinning once they hit the ground.
Suggest the OP use at least two emitter players. one further back, and use different leaf system settings and edge settings.thansk again, Andy.

Buddy, you’re just not getting it from our point of view. Your descriptions don’t help.

these guys used to offer something to get you started but, the rat bastards have gone ultrcommercial, even insulting:

> MacHouse no longer offers video tutorials to guests or freeloaders.< Luckily, there's guys like Stephen. Buy his Cow DVD. (I receive no compensation whatsoever for saying this, they're good products, he's engaging, knows his stuff.) bogiesan

If there is an effect applied to the lower layer or transition, you begin rendering at that point. Your rnder settings would then be the culprit. Make sure they’re set at, umm, best.
User prefs, render control. That should o it for you.bogiesan

I bow. Thanks for letting us see what you’ve been up to. I get to send this link off to many friends who just don’t understand 3D execution.
A comment on an editorial decision: your solo performance goes up by several notches at 1:50 but you elected to obscure your fret and picking skills with those lovely golden light effects. I’d have rather seen your hands at work and saved that effect for the drum beats at 2:45 for a nicely audio-motivated closer.
But, dude, I stand in awe of the passion with which you attacked the project and the mastery of many of AE’s more complex functions.

[johnsabbath d’urzo] “when they people are walking there is like a double image, kind of like a haze.”
> I remember looking at the original footage the last time we worked on this project and it was a double image there to. do you think this would be a lighting situation that causes this problem? < I have no idea what you mean by a "double image haze." There is no "lighting situation" that can produce such a thing. You're seeing interlacing issues, time remapping, echo filters, or just bad video. Chances are it was deliberate. You test it on your end by looking at a still image. Only you can determine if these artifacts are burned into your pixels. bogiesan

> when they people are walking there is like a double image, kind of like a haze< You realize how difficult this is for us to visualize? the most common cause, based on your mention of BetaSP, is that your interlacing issues need to be straightened out. It's a very complicated problem with digital video, your ingestion process and Kona settings, your timeline settings, and how you are viewing your output from the Macintosh. bogiesan

Ae has a weird thing that happens when you pass 180 or 360 degree rotations on some axes sometimes. You get around this by parenting your camera to a null. Move the null around and change the orientation of the null to swing your camera around. It’s a fabulous technique to have in your quiver. Moving a null around in 3d space is way easier than moving a camera that has POI active.

Is the distortion exacltly in the same places? If so, it’s the media.
If the distortion migrates each time, it might still be the media. FCP doesn’t process v/o any differently once it is written to disk from RAM.
Find the file and export it, even if it’s just to the same settings.
If the exported file exhibits the same issues, it’s the original media, not FCP.
You can also try simply duplicating the file at the Finder.Give us a few more hours as the west coast wakes up. You’ll get some additional or better advice soon.

Careful design. there is no automation that I can see. Each character’s motion was carefully planned and timed. Nothing difficult at all except the skill of the designer.
Watch very carefully for the inspirations. Notice the subtle and cool moves? the E that lets out some Fs, the G that becomes a C. Nice work, that’s the kind of stuff that makes the boring assignment of “need some text to fly around” into the stimulating craft of animation.bogiesan
