There are slight processing differences depending on if you use Text Layers or Text Effects and if you precompose and then apply subsidiary filters. I’ve done all the debugging I can do, results are inconclusive and might even be related to certain fonts.

The bottom line is it’s not a bug so you will be experimenting on your own to defeat it.

Yes, you will need to be absolutely confident using Motion Tracking.
That’s just where you will start.

Arrow impacts and exits are far easier to do as a practical rigs and costume effects while shooting. It is also done on stage in theatres. Any basic movie stunt or stage effects book will have several possible solutions.

we’ve seen similar topics recently here and on the adobe.com AE forum. I don’t see any conclusive solutions and, much worse, it’s not universal. I thought it was a bug. It’s not. It’s you. And it’s me.

Pixels is pixels in video. The codec you choose for production is based on your needs for quality but yoru delivery codec based on your playback requirements.

Compression uses algorithms that throw away what the codec assumes are unnecessarily complex iterations of useless information. Can’t be helped, that’s why we call it compression; all you can do is try to minimize the compression but that increases the file size and the bitrate needed to play it back smoothly and reliably.

if your text originated as vectors, it has to rasterized. If you save out of PS as a tiff or jpg you will see the same kind of compression artifacts at the pixel edges of your text.

You have not provided any information that helps.
The information we need is about the composition, what codec, how big? What are the source layers? Are they video, Photoshop? What codecs and how big are they?

3D multiplies rendering by a geometric progressions that is linear in terms of image size. Another iteration of the math is used for each light you have in the scene.
If, for example, your scene was 2D and it rendered in 20 minutes, when you make it into 3D and add a camera , render multiplies by about 1.5 to, say 30-35 minutes. Add 2 lights and activate shadows and you may double that. Add another light and you increase it again. For every filter you add a significant factor especially if you are scaling huge elements way down to fit a project window.

Motion will work as a 2D animation tool.
That’s the answer to your question. You must learn how to use Motion first before you can develop a 2D project because you do not understand how Motion’s layers work.

Do you mean you have used cels and rostrum cameras? Using software is much more complicated because it gives you so much flexibility and experimentation latitude.
