  • multiple windows, multiple views

I know I’ve done this before in CS3, but I can’t remember how. In AE 6.5 and previous versions you could drag out 2 windows to see how changing one comp or effect parameter (like changing a lens flare path) would update the other. But the Views just gives me the same comp. This was really an important feature.

I did a search for multiple views… But it just gives me the View window…

    thanks,

The flyout on the window includes NEW VIEWER.

I’ve tried this but it only gives me a new view of the same window. I need TWO separate windows – one of a main comp, and one of a comp within that main comp. When I alter the comp within the comp, I’ll see the changes (side by side) in the main comp. Even with 2 views selected I can’t get it to work.

cool ok, think i get what you mean!

open the comp were you want to see the changes happening (not the one your making the changes in) and right click in the composition window and go to new/viewer. then drag the new composition window to where ever you want it.
now open the comp you’re making the changes in, you are now free to edit the other composition in another window and see the changes that are being made.

    hope all is cool
