In FCP it can’t be done, since only smoothcam is tracking the frame and yet only to stabilize it.
About Motion I don’t know if it can deal with that.
Softwares that can do that for sure are Shake and AE. In AE you track the plate, then you apply the tracking info to a null object and you link your text to the null. it will then move like it was filmed in the shot.

Yes,
what you need to do is Matchmove the camera movement, apply tracking points to the titles. Then roto everything is supposed to be ahead of the text.
Don’t know if it’s possible with Motion, but definitely in AE.Cheers,

no problem at all, I even think it’s a format template that comes within FCP. So what you need to is selecting in export option.

Hi,
as andy mentionned it’s best to compile your sequence in Quicktime. But if you want to deal with it in FCP, you might have to change two settings:
Final Cut Pro>user preferences>Still/freeze duration, set it to 1 frame
And then Final Cut Pro>System setting>memory and usage>still cache, drag it to a higher value, probably 100% as FCP will put your sequence in cacheBut be aware that regarding your codec settings for the sequence, FCP might still need to render it. Try tiff as a codec in your sequence.

hi Declan,
the thing is that Final Cut Studio 2 is now two years old, I guess we’ll have to wait for a new version to see it fully use the multithreading capability of the 8-core Mac pros.

Hi David,
looks really like a PAR issue though.
Strange.maybe a clue might be also to check what is your initial Codec, because MXF is only a wrapper. Maybe there is the issue, a difference in formats between two MXF files. Is it XDcam HD? I’d have to do the test myself though, See what I can get.

Thank you, Kevin, but are you sure you are not confusing me with someone else? I am in Belgium actually, I am the trainer guy for Sony Creative Software here in France, Belgium and Holland.
Anyway you seem a nice guy to chat with. 😉

Not sure to really get what you see as a result. A still frame illustrating the problem would make it out of doubt.
But at first it seems like an aspect ratio issue. What setting are you using as pixel aspect ratio?
