It was a layer with lots of vectors on it set to soft light in the comp, and the comp set to add. I don’t know why it was doing this, but as soon as I changed it, it worked…. strange.

  • Not sure exactly what you are trying to achieve… But you can animate objects with the rigid tag disabled, then select the rigid tag and enable it close to the point of impact.

I’m not sure of the technicalities of it, however, dynamics is part of the mograph section. If a primitive is not in a cloner object, it does not have all the capabilities that mograph has (rigid body tags)

Mograph text does not need to be in a cloner, mograph text is already mograph.

lol that is as good of an explanation I can give.

Place your sphere in a cloner object. Reduce the number of clones to 1 (I think the phrase it uses is itterate)than the dynamic tag will automatically change to a non-static rigid body.

I was totally agreeing with you. I guess my sarcasm didn’t come through.

Wait, so motion graphics isn’t falling spheres and softboxes?

Sub surface scattering with a high choke?
Pariah Rob has a tutorial for that.

It is so quick it is difficult to even see what is going on.

I love gcaster, but I get so depressed after watching his stuff.

Sounds great. I am still very much a beginner, but that at least gives me a direction to search out for online.

    Thanks

  • I’m not sure of your exact solution… but…

There are tons of work arounds. you can have the text shatter with force towards the camera as it approaches, you can have the text rotated 90 degrees, smashing the competition, then having the camera go above to see what it says. You can just have no shatter, and have “Commpetition” rotate around to say “Shattered” and then reveal MPG.

It is times like this that you sometimes have to just maybe find a new solution. Hope this helps!
