Also found this great apple doc.

Basically, you are either nudging (moving an entire clip) or trimming (changing the duration of a clip buy one or more frames)

I think the OP might be asking for a Nudge/trim feature. 🙂

In that case I would select the clip. Hold the option key and drag out one frame ata time on either end.

    Select the clip

Use the “.” To nudge forward, use the “,” to nudge backward.

    Andreas,

Since I mainly work with red media I am wondering if this tool will be able to easily view where the proxy media and the original media reside.

Anyhow, I’ll take a look at this little tool.

    Hi rob,

Larry Jordin had a great tips video on how to upgrade libraries one buy one.

I have spilt all of my projects into different libraries instead of one large one. Even in the largest libraries, excess of ten days of shooting, I find the exact opposite of what you are reporting.

Fcp 10.1. Is much, much snappier and more responsive.

I think you might be correct in that is the large library. Also is all of this footage on one drive?

You can select sections of footage (maybe stuff you are not using all the time) and use the create new library menu item to break that one large library into smaller pieces.

Also double check all that your video card/ram/etc is up to spec for the new FCPX

January 4, 2014 at 11:32 am in reply to: FCPX Freezes when loading project…any project

I had similar behavior with FCP X yesterday when I was discovered all of these similar problems what I did was I deleted any folders inside one particular project and that seems to remedy the issue.

I just kept open the app until it finally loaded the library with folders in the project. You can create a folder in a project but you can not add anything to that folder. I want to use folders in the project so that I can save snapshots in the folder and leave working versions available to me in the project this doesn’t seem to work yet in FCP X 10.1.

Clicking the icon or anywhere produces no response. (like it’s thinking in pre crash mode)

Nope, do not have audio analysis tab open.

Its a weird one. I also had an issue today where opening a library was causing a total FCP X crash with reopen message. I narrowed this down to the fact I had created a FOLDER in the Projects portion of the Library. The Folder would not allow me to add anything to it, but it was creating havoc, finally able to delete the folder and the problem vanished. Very weird.

Apple got about ten crash logs on that one. 🙂

    Hi Tim,

    I have a snag.

I have redone all of my current tapes with your back up plan, however when I reinsert the tape and ask to run the incrimental backup I get a message saying that the backup could not be found and asks if I want to promote it to full.

I say yes, then Bru goes to the end of the tape and says it is going to append. This confuses me, is it doing an incremental back up or not (after I have added R3D files to the folder that I thought I had backed up?
