24P is actually 29.97. If you capture it at 29.97 the pulldown has been inserted on the tape. There is no need to remove this pulldown UNLESS you have a video card that can display 23.98 material.
I would recapture with the DV 48k preset and this should solve part of the problem. A caution though. 24P does create jaggies and jumpiness on pans and any movment that is too fast. This has to do with the framerate and the shutter and is not a problem with the camera. This is exactly how film behaves on similar moves.
Make a copy of the project. make the media offline and recapture it with the new capture setting. Be sure to “ignore logged clip settings”

I would completely avoid the text tool. I actually completely avoid rolls as a rule. They are very difficult to execute in any program, including AE and FCP. Here is why:
It has to do with interlaced video. If the roll is not a specific time and the characters are not falling on the correct fields it is almost impossible to do a proper credit ROLL. You should experiment with the crawl feature in Boris to see if it your specific roll and timing is going to give you headaches. I ahd a roll a few months agao that was almost impossible to execute and it looked awful no matter what I did. I had a combination of characters lines and speed that just sis not work well with interlaced video.
If you can do it in cards then I would suggest cards.

I think you can go FCE to FCP but not the other way.
One thing you might do is just work on copies of the project and then if you have to go back to the original you can do that. I don’t think you can cut it in FCP and then hand it back to them to finiahs in FCE though.

I own two Aurora products. Back inthe day they put a TC output and input on the breakout box. That was so that you could route a TC signal for that very reason. Somewhere in the infiinte wisdom of Engineering, the FCP team just decided that TC was not that important a signal to route.
Premeire Pro has this feature from the timeline and most Non Liniar apps realize that TC is an important signal. My saying used to be (and still is some days) TIMECODE IS MY LIFE. Maybe a new version of FCP will provide this very usefull feature.
