If you captured via firewire then you are not hosed at all. That media is easliy transferable and can be read by the Kona card. The Kona 3 will handle the upconvert from D_beta (you’ll just have to create an easy setup).
This should be relatively painless, but you should back everything up first.

This is often caused when the audio was set to 32K in the camera, default is 48K. Maybe you need to check this and alter your capture preset.

You can not ooutput to flash with this version of compressor. You need to get the Flash encoder. With this you can export a movie from FCP and encode it in flash to the quality settings that you like.
It’s a clean compressor, but most sites compress the crap out of it and it can look bad.
The new version of compressor will have flash built in.

Idiot,
we are all on macs. this software does not work on PC’s but two and even three button mice work on Macs.

The is an arrow below the three color wheels on the left side of the window. Click it and it opens up the rest of the color corrector that allows you to limit the effect.
The stone tutorial is a very good step by step for this.

It is great to see the TC finally implemented in QT. For years I had to have clients watch TC QT’s with a great little program called Sebsky’s tools.
The reason it would be nice to carry the TC over is this. Let’s say I capture everything to a DV codec ans then I want tp let compressor run for a day creating smaller files sizes for out of town producers, GFX people, ftp or waht ever reaons.
If the TC was carried over in the encode our lives would be much simpler. I don’t understand why Apple and QT team has taken all of this time to understand that TIMECODE IS EVERYTHING in post production. We don’t sneeze without thinking about TC.
I am sure they will refine this soon enough, but it is LONG overdue.
