  • Matt sounds like things are headed well for you! I edit on PC and Mac via Adobe Premiere Pro CS5. This new version is blazing fast. It allows you to have multiple formats in the same timeline with no problems whatsoever.

    Here are some suggestions:

    1. The Adobe CS5 Production Premium Suite comes with Encore DVD. You can edit in Premiere Pro then Export the sequence to Encore and create DVDs. No pre renders. Also you can export to Blu Ray!

    2. I use Canon XHA1’s, 7D, and Panasonic HVX200. All work fine with Premiere on a PC or Mac. We just got in some JVC HM100U. Those shoot to SD cards.

    3. Try exporting to H.264.

    4. The Premiere Pro CS5 titler allows you to create lower thirds, text, graphics etc really fast, and easily.

Here is a link to a free 30 day trial of Premiere Pro CS5. https://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/switch/

    Best of luck! Dave

Have you tried using Premiere Pro CS5? It works natively with RED files. You need to be on Snow Leopard as its 64 bit only. https://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/switch/

Hi i just did a feature with the JVC Hd 100 and used the Cineform Prospect HD plug in. I captured all my footage with the batch capture option using time code and it worked fine. have you tried that?

Thanks! that helped a lot! Last question (maybe!), should i render the footage i have in my PP2 timeline then import that into AE for CC or Keying? I did an assembly on my film and need to do CC, Keying etc. Do i need to import the entire original clips or can i just render the portions i need to for a particular scene, do my AE work then import that via dynamic link and replace? Im sure my workflow isnt so hot but its my first time using PP2 and the production studio.
