    Hi people!
Doing several tests to see what works best as I’m a newbie in Red editing. All has gone well until this one.
I’m using iMac, 2.8 Intel i7 core 8 gig RAM
Media is on external 1TB Lacie fw 800 7200 spin speed

I am trying the 422 Proxy workflow using the guide that comes with the installer from the red support site. On pages 18, 19, 20,it gives steps for conforming. All goes well until the step where you have to batch capture.

I get an error saying capture preset must have a video or audio digitizer . Please change to desired preset in the audio/video settings.
I’ve tried to make a capture preset that matches, but always get the error msg.
    My brain hurts!
    Help anyone please?

Your recapture should be Log & Transfer with RED not Log & Capture.

Can you post your sequence settings and your audio/video settings in the Easy Setup you have created.

Have you tried using Premiere Pro CS5? It works natively with RED files. You need to be on Snow Leopard as its 64 bit only. https://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/switch/

Hi Michael, thanks for the reply
Yes I am using log and transfer (sorry if I inadvertantly said capture) and have done all the settings in easy setup as per instructions.
The volume is seen and I can transfer no problem when doing straight capture.
It’s when I try to reconnect the proxies using batch capture that the problem occurs.
It was at the end of a long day so I will look again.
    all the bet

    Hi David,
    Thanks for your reply.
No I’m using FCP. I can transfer Red using pro res, no problems. I have several tests working fine in FCP, going to Color etc. using 444, 422 HQ, and native which of course my machine won’t do very well as it ain’t quite big enough, sigh.

I’m testing the proxy pro res workflow, following the instructions in the red workflow that comes with the installer, and it uses media manager to create a new sequence and master clip. It’s the part where you have to do a batch capture that I am having a problem.
    all the best
