[Wayne Waag] “In the future, if you have a stereo track but only one channel of audio, you can right-click on the event, select channels and then choose which channel you want to use. In essence, you’ve converted it to a mono track.”

    Thank you!

[Wayne Waag] “Now you can split the file, move parts around, etc. and the 2nd audio will always remain synced.”

Don’t think I’m understanding this one… but I would be glad to investigate your script…

    I’m sure you’ve done this… but “ungroup”?

My question–why do you want to do this in the first place? The resulting audio, when rendered, will be the same.

Well, this has been a learning process… The recorder I bought was a stereo recorder. The lapel mic I have is a mono mike… so, I had sound in my left ear, but not in my right ear… Was not fun editing…

I have since found that I can set the recorder to mono. I think that will resolve the problem.

Once you have synchronized your tracks, you need to Create a Group for them (select your tracks, then enter G). Then, if you move one track, the other will move along with it, so long as Ignore Event Grouping is not selected.

Yeah, I use grouping a lot, however, for some reason…as I am editing, the grouping doesn’t seem to be static. All of a sudden, I find that whether due to splitting or some other reason – the grouping “ungroups” and I am out of alignment. I’m sure it’s something that I don’t realize that I’m doing – but I get to the place where I’m out of alignment and then, because of other changes to the audio, I can’t use Pluraleyes to get lined up again… 🙁

  • I think I found out something else… I am using a stereo recorder with a mono mic. So the track SHOWS as stereo, even though sound is only on one side. Would that change the way Vegas looks at it?

[John Rofrano] “You need to Process the camera tracks to create the master track.”

I see the “Process Cameras” tab, but after watching your tutorial it took way too long to realize that the “OK” button shown in the tutorial, when used in Ultimate S Pro, was the “Apply” button…and, it was not at the bottom of the Quad-CAM window, but was outside the boundaries of the Quad-CAM area up in the USP heading area. That took a bit of mental gymnastics – and I’m a little out of shape…

I would recommend a final paragraph in the documentation specifically referencing the “Apply” button as the last step of completing the Quad-CAM action.

    Thanks again!

I just answered you with everything you already know… so I deleted my post…

Would it be of any help to allow you to use my system with TeamViewer and work remotely?

I believe, if you will right click the event, and then select properties, you can set the length of the event. That should be the same as the length you want your effect to last. This may also require splitting your event so that it matches the length you desire.
