The apple error code for -35 is: nsvErr No such volume; volume not found.
Try importing toor from a different volume, or maybe copying the file to a media drive and importing to the same drive.
Perhaps the media creation setting for imports is having a conflict with some other setting – drive filtering?

Also, do the versions of quicktime match?

  • Sorenson Squeeze comes to mind, I’ve got v.4.3 and it does FLVs via QT Ref.
Also a quick google search brought up this:

Couple of thoughts – in Avid, are the audio output settings set to direct, stereo, or mono (which is what you want here, right?).
To check, bring up the audio meters, press button on top of meter window that looks like there dots and three rectangles. If set to direct, make sure ch.1 is routed to ch.1 and ch.2 to ch.2, but Ideally this would be set to mono.
On front of that deck, is there not a switch that allows mixing of audio channels? I’m not near one today, but I believe the switch must be centered.

November 21, 2006 at 6:51 am in reply to: Avid workflow: Networking 2 PC’s question

    open the console and type:

    alldrives 1

This will tell the avid to allow network drives to be seen as local drives and the avid will attempt to write/read media with the networked drive. Your mileage may vary.
Be careful when accessing the same media pool simultaneously. In a day’s testing last year I found some level of simultaneous access is possible, but as soon as one machine tried to write the database files, the other one had issues.

    Years ago, I successfully upgraded several MC 7.2’s with Sonnet’s G3 500 proc card – PPCG3-500-1M.
The card, which is still available, really made things snappier – moving around the timeline, waveform redraws, import/exports. Renders were not much faster, though. I vaguely remember the 9600s will take more than a gig of RAM, but the 7.2’s ran fine with 384MB.

To me the end product usually dictates the method used to get there. I’ve done several projects shot on the Panasonic 900 series DV50 camera at 24p. They’ve all finished to NTSC video 29.97 digitizing from an ajsd93 deck at 29.97. The deck does the pulldown. The look from that camera is especially good – great color profiles and a surreal motion somewhere between video and film. I’ve only done 30i or 30i matchback projects. Certainly there’s more to think about if you intend to do a filmout, or if you’re going to be generating a cutlist and finishing on film.
For more info, I hear 24p.com is a good resource.

Ah, well there you go. I know that version doesn’t allow locators when digitizing.
I have it at home on my older system and just confirmed it.

FWIW, version 5.6 has the same locator functionality as Media Composer, so did 5.x. I can’t remember if it worked this way in 4.8.x, I think so.

In Capture settings there’s a new tab called Keys for assigning a rainbow of locators to your function keys. Still works just fine.
Check there and also your keyboard settings to make sure you’ve got a key assigned for locators.

It’s been a while, but my feeble memory suggests digitize settings.
And I don’t believe it was called confidence view, something like display client monitor…
