Thanks for the reply Jeff but it does save a load of time as it doesn’t have to calculate the stabilisation, noise reduction, color grade etc etc for the second output. The full Premiere output take 1.5 hrs to render but if I use that H264 file to create the DVD it renders in 15 mins not 1.5 hrs.

If it was just for this occasion I wouldn’t be so bothered but I have a few videos I want to do the same process on and I am trying to get my head around where this jittering is coming from. Is it going from progressive to interlaced or the frame rate conversion.

I can only see D1/DV PAL (1.09) as an option but I interpreted the footage as that and exported without resizing and it worked. I can now play the clip in any player without being stretched to wide screen.

When I toggle the pixel aspect ratio switch it does switch to the wide screen view but that isn’t how the footage was recorded as this wide screen view has people distorted. It was recorded at 4 / 3 but everything that I can play the clip with VLC player etc. plays it wide screen.

How can I get it to export at 4/3

Thanks for the reply Darby, but the problem is that it that displays correctly in the AE viewer but the output is wrong, it always out puts wide screen. How can I get it to output at 4/3

I checked what you suggested and it is set to 1.46 which seems to be what it should be set to ?

I did actually try the make thumbnail comp button from DVrebeltools but I get an error message when I try to open the thumbnail comp. I thought it might be a cs6 compatibility problem ? Either that or me doing it wrong…guess which one I know to be more likely : )
