Actions for After effects
Is there a way to record your steps in AE to repeat them again easily similar to Actions in Photoshop ?
e.g duplicate a layer precomp it, label it and apply an animation preset, then open the precomp and apply an animation preset to the layer inside the precomp … can I record that sort of procedure some how ?

AE doesn’t haven actions. To accomplish something like that, you would have to write a script to execute those commands.
