    I have a Sony LCD LMD-250W and its connected via component, we go FCP through the Kona card Component to the Sony LCD.

    It also flashes the same error message, i just pressed yes and thats when the video came on screen.

    It kinda works!!!! I get my video on my external monitor but the monitor keeps dipping to black every now and again, could that be a connection problem or a setting problem? Its alot better than what I had before but still there is no consistent image on my external monitor, it blinks to black.

    I do not have AJA KONA 3, I have AJA KONA LH…the only DVC PRO HD options are

    LH – 720p 59.94 DCVproHD
    LH- 720p 25 DVCpro HD VFR
    LH – 1080 psf DVCpro HD VFR

    I dont have that setting in my FCP settings?? have many different Konas but Kona DCPRO HD isnt one of them.

    Yea I am still having problems even when I change my settings, I am running a Sony LCD monitor, the manual says LMD – 2050W, LMD 2450

    I do that I set final cut to that setting and then bring my footage to the timeline, I get an error:

    For best performance your sequence and external video should be set to the format of the clips you are editing.

    I click Yes and the viewer in FCP shows the footage fine, but my external monitor that is running through the Kona card does not, It just tells me there is no sync and every second the clip flashes onto the screen.

    Any suggestons?

    why would one choose to shoot in the 24P mode if you get longer record times AND superior quality shooting 24PN?
