An SSD system (boot) drive will make your computer boot up MUCH faster, and run quicker as well, but as Stevie & John stated, it won’t affect render performance. The only thing that will decrease render times is a CPU upgrade, but that’s not always a simple upgrade with a laptop.

What type of video are you using? AVCHD? AVI? How was this video acquired (ie: camera type)? Just so you know right off the bat, even though the AMD processor you have is an excellent CPU, AMD chips have never been that good for video editing systems.

If your shooting conditions will be like this on a regular basis, maybe you should invest in a Sony A7S. It will allow you to shoot at a high ISO with a fast shutter speed and give you great images. Its lowlight shooting is awesome, and you can use your Nikon lenses with an adapter.

By the sounds of your questions, I would advise finding someone to build your computer for you. If you know nothing about basic stuff like PCI Express slots, you are going to struggle with building your first system, especially making BIOS settings.
