All of my YouTube (and Vimeo) videos are rendered using the MainConcept HD for Internet 1080 render choice, and I turn up the average and maximum bit rates. If I need the utmost quality, giving up a faster render, I enable two-pass rendering.

What you have not provided to us is how you are capturing the movie footage. I know the capture software my son uses has a pretty low capture nitrate, which yields a poor quality. If I were you I’d research what method is best for your capture needs.

Excuse me for making a mistake. In the future I’ll make sure not to give any input on any of your future posts since you’re such a smart-ass.

Intel Xeon processors will yield the fastest render times.

Intel’s IvyBridge architecture has better performance than their SandyBridge counterparts. Check to see which architecture those CPUs are using.

Vegas Pro 12 didn’t take advantage of dual GPU cards and I don’t think Pro 13 is any different.

  • The upload time to YouTube depends on your internet upload speed. What your experiencing doesn’t seem out of the ordinary to me. My broadband speed is 15mb down but upload speed is maybe 1 or 2mb. Most ISPs don’t offer super-fast upload speeds. My YouTube uploads take a long time, too.

Our government will not listen. It is all about the $$ today. Pretty sad that my friend’s monthly cell phone bill is almost the same price as the monthly mortgage payment my parents had on the house I grew up in.

If a corporation can make extra $$$$ by having rules swayed their way our fine representatives aren’t going to stand in the way.

Your CPUs should be fine but you are waaaaay to low on RAM. Since RAM is so cheap today, I’d recommend 16bg at a minimum.

One important piece of info you left out is what type of video card you have in there. If it is the original card it might be your main problem. If you don’t know what the GPU is, go into the System Preferences/Hardware and see what’s listed.

Even with a modern graphics card, the CPU is still doing most of the work. You will gain a little by upgrading to an Ivy Bridge i7 (and 16gb RAM) but stepping up to the newest Xeon CPUs will yield the best results.

How did you acquire the footage? I use the Main concept for Internet (1920×1080) render option and turn up the bit rate as well as enabling two-pass, and my footage always looks great. However, a friend gave me some action cam footage to edit and using the same render settings it didn’t look good. Why? Because the original camera footage was from a semi-cheap camera and the fast movement hurt it even more.

Not much can be done in those instances.
