Thank you but unfortunately they don’t do what i’m after. I want to be able to select a number of text layers which are spread along the same horizontal axis in 2D. After applying a suitable script the end two layers remain in place and the ones in between distribute so that the gaps are the same.

Yes in the extreme. But I’d keep the mask within the video boundary when animating the path in the first stage.

What OS are you running ?
Check your firewire driver is current.

I’m assuming that the tape plays OK in the camera without the blocking ?
How long is your firewire lead ? Try swapping it for another and keep the length down to less than 4.5 metres.

Are you running any other applications at the same time and are you capturing to a second hard drive (this would only explain the dropped frames though).

Avid Liquid 7.2 allows you to preview HDV on capture.

Think the days of Liquid are numbered tho. Suspect Avid are pushing people onto their other systems.
