Is there a quick way to allow an imported image to fit to either the width or height of the composition ?

It’s a pain having to scale an image down manually and play around so a particular edge is just right.

I know there is the scale to frame option but what I’m after for e.g is importing a very wide image to do a pan on and getting PP to fit the height correctly.

    Thanks, Dave.

    Try this:

Go into the Effects tab then Video Effects>Distort>Transform

the transform effect allows you to have individual control over a still image or video’s height and/or width.

Hope that helps…..fastest way i know to do it.

If you’re maintaining the aspect ratio, effects>motion>scale will work. If you highlight the “motion” setting, you’ll see a bounding box around the image as you scale it. Just drag the slider until the vertical fits and you’re there.
