Switched from M100 to FCP 2 years ago and have never looked back! You can do so much right inside FCP. To able to add a Blur, Crop ect.. without leaving FCP is great! One of things you will find different is unlike M100 that imports everything into it’s codec, FCP imports almost any codec but then you may have render the file. So the waiting is changed from import to render after the file is in the timeline.

try re-compressing the PC file to DVCPRO HD. Sounds like 720P would be what you need.

[Mike Gondek] “Edit >> preferences >> file handling >> maximize psd compatibility (to ask or on)
Then do a save as, adn you can save over the same filename.”

I read about the maximize psd compatibility and turned that on but the key was the save as!
    Awesome tip thanks.

Using the transfer software you will be able to import the files from the disc at twice real time. That cuts the capture time in half. I also noticed the colors are better on the imported files.
