[Eric Temple] ” these disks were loaded using the file-import-xdcam method, it won’t work.”

Why doesn’t it work? If you transfer the clips the same way you did it the first time (Sony Transfer software) and put them in the same location (don’t import into FCP) it will bring the project back just like you last had it. We have done this and it works fine. Did use bring the clips in completely or did you trim the clips in the transfer software?

We are on 10.5.2 and are not having this problem. We did a clean install of 10.5 and are using the 2.51 and the 2.70 version of the transfer software. We are having the duplicate clip problem though.

No viewing over video until it’s in the timeline. Hard to get used to if you come from a system like Media 100.

Really, this was fixed in 6.03? Hmm, to be able import XDAM into FCP or use Livetype with backgrounds on Leopard. Tough choice.

No, this was a known issue in 2.51, I was hoping it was fixed in 2.7.

Craig, where did you find this install info? I looked through the read me, Notes & Limitations and manual and this is all it said.

    Installation
The XDCAM Transfer software is distributed as a standard Mac OS X installer package (“XDCAM Transfer 2.7”). To start the installation, just double-click this package in the Finder.
Follow the instructions to complete the installation. You will be prompted to restart your Mac at the end in order for the FAM driver software components to be activated.

    Readme

    PDZ-KP1 XDCAM Transfer version 2.7

This version of XDCAM Transfer features the following:

    1. Adds support for the new XDCAM HD 422 products which record using 50 Mbps MPEG-2

    PDW-HD1500 XDCAM HD 422 Deck
    PDW-700 XDCAM HD 422 Camcorder

Note: Although this version can be used with older versions of Final Cut Pro, you must
use Final Cut Pro version 6.03 to in order for XDCAM Transfer to recognize the 50 Mbps
HD content recorded on the disc (and to edit the material).

    2. Qualified for use on both Tiger and Leopard (Mac OS X version 10.4.11 or later)

    3. Continues to supports the use of the following products with Final Cut Pro as before:

PMW-EX XDCAM EX Camcorder (Requires Final Cut Pro version 6.02)
PDW-U1 USB 2.0 XDCAM Drive (Requires Mac OS X 10.4.11 or higher)

    4. This version also installs the Leopard qualified FAM driver for the optical XDCAM products:

Standard Definition XDCAM Camcorders and Decks
    PDW-530
    PDW-510
    PDW-V1
    PDW-1500
    PDW-R1
    PDW-D1

    XDCAM HD Camcorders and Decks

    PDW-F330L
    PDW-F350L
    PDW-F335L
    PDW-F355L

    PDW-F70
    PDW-F30
    PDW-F75

XDCAM HD 422 Camcorders and Decks

    PDW-700

    PDW-HD1500

    5. Bug Fix: This version enables XDCAM EX clips which were shot with timecode mode set to CLOCK to be recognized
and imported into Final Cut Pro. In previous versions, XDCAM Transfer would display the error message:
“Error There is no timecode calculator in timecode track builder”.
