    I exported a 30 second clip from both iMovie and FCPX 10.0.9 iMovie export the clip in 5 seconds, FCPX exported in 30 seconds. Same computer same clip in both programs.

    I just did many hours of proxy for a multicam and it was working normally under Mavericks.

  • Maybe that’s the problem, bonking (shagging) at my computer is getting in the way. It works most of the time when I really need it. When it doesn’t’ it’s really easy to find footage in X.

    I also do my versioning within projects. It seems that’s how the program was designed so I think it’s best to use it the way it was designed in my opinion. FWIW

    You don’t need Resolve unless your not editing in FCP. You have a AJA card which works with Color. I’ve graded projects from FCP to Color and back that were shown in a 2000 seat theater and looked great. You need to get a cheap monitor and figure out how to get it set up. Call a production company in your area and tell them what you’re doing. Ask if you can bring some color graded test shots to that facility and look at them on a proper monitor to see if it matches yours. Offer them some of your time in trade for there help.

    Not sure if this is possible in your area but I would try this.
