  • Thanks Edward I will try out your answer and let you know
also will check out your newsletter PiP tips

I hope it has a section covering the different way NLE software do it
I had assumed it was done the same as in Premiere …… my mistake !!

Someone else had a similar type of problem although different but of the same effect being applied to all clips in the same video track

    https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/208/874472

I was thinking we had both somehow made a parent/child track I saw mentioned in the manual for compositing around page 280
I have a Sony tutorial dvd set somewhere for Vegas 6 and was going to go through that in search of an answer but now I will focus on the Keyframe like you said

I am having the same problem where I have a video track to only use for Picture-in-Picture and each time I place a new Picture-in-Picture in the video track in a different spot all the others move to the same area which I definitely don’t want

I tried Track Properties ungroup but it made no difference
I asked in this forum but haven’t got a solution to my problem

Where are all the experts !!!
in Premiere it is very easy to move PiP’s to different spots and I am sure once I can find the answer it will be as easy in Vegas

I am certain we have both clicked on the same thing that then applies to the whole track even though our problems are different the answer for both should be the same

If I find out I will let you know and if you find out can you mention here what the solution is ?

…… excuse me ……. back to reading the manual !!!

On the VCD disc go to the “MPEGAV” Folder
    the vcd.mpg should have the name.extension “AVSEQ01.DAT”

copy the dat file(s) to your PC and rename them with the extension xxxxx.mpg

VCD disc players standard calls them dat so just rename them
the VCD bitrate is only 1150 so don’t expect your original source quality

  • Sorry you misunderstood my question I have vegas 7 not studio

I want a PiP to appear in only video track 2 at different times right side then left side then top then bottom

But the PiP’s all appear in exactly the same place !

I assume I have somehow accidently made it a default setting for that track and don’t know and can’t find how to undo whatever I did

in Premiere it is very easy to place single or multiple PiP where ever I wanted

Vegas is a differnet kettle of fish I’m trying to learn ….. please be patient with me !!!

    Hi Danny

Would you know how to make the video tracks appear like they do in Premiere Pro ?

    video 3
    video 2
    video 1
    audio 1
    audio 2
    audio 3

actually the Vegas Pro 8 web page has a big screenshot of Vegas doing just that

    https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/vegaspro

but when I put video in it makes it

    video 2
    audio 2
    video 1
    audio 1

I much prefer the Premiere way …… I also miss the razor tool and the mark in/out rather than trying to remember 101 new keyboard short cuts ….. which aren’t ….. if I can’t remember them !!!

    thanks from Dave
