    Hi Tom,

thanks for getting back to me.
    err i’m using flip4mac version 2.1.3.10
and the properties of the wmv are as follows:

    file size 108mb
    dur: 56.00
    frame wid: 480
    frame hi: 360
    data rate : 423kbps
    bit rate: 423kbps
    frame rate: 15 f/sec

i don’t really know what you’d want to know.
i’m now thinking that the frame rate could be the source of the problem, but i still can’t figure out why that would effect how it plays in qt and mpeg stream clip.
it doesn’t play correctly in either of those programs.

it works on my mac when i use a program call vlc, but unfortunately i can’t export using that program.

This sometimes happens to me, i just re-type the serial code and the problem usually corrects itself. only ever usually happens when i use shine, all the other trapcode plugs are fine.

    Hope you get it sorted

    hiya,

this tutorial shows you how to turn text into sand, im pretty sure you could tweak it so its smoke. there’s another tute on here somewhere that uses particular instead of partical playround, that would probably be pretty useful as well.

    Hey,

I have just downloaded and installed QT 7.4.1, rendering as i type, at the moment i am at the 14 minute mark and it hasn’t crashed as of yet, looking good so far. (fingers crossed).

I’ll let you know if anything goes wrong with it, but otherwise, i shall also recommend this to people who haven’t downgraded yet.

it’s friday and i am now that little bit happier. 😀

Have you upgraded to quicktime 7.4?

If so read the discussions at the top of the forum page for a fix.

    hey guys,

just wondering if there’s another to fix this problem because for some reason this fix isn’t working for me. i’ve downloaded and installed pacifist, downloaded qt 7.3.1 and opened the package file in pacifist and followed the instructions, choosing to replace when prompted, but i still can’t render. really REALLY irritating now.
    any suggestions?

    cheers guys
