Increased stability will be HUGE for me. My workflow uses a Matrox MXO2 LE and I’ve found it to be quite flaky using Matrox sequence presets, etc.

    When does it ship?

They’re definitely RGB, 8bpc. I also tried dynamically linking the clips from PPro to AE, and I’ve tried roughly building all of the GFX in Premiere and then linking the whole thing. Same error.

The issue always seems to be creating a pre-comp from a copied or linked clip(s).

  • Sorry to add my thoughts late on this…this is very good news!

Yes, I’m on a PC, and I experience a fair amount of sluggishness/responsiveness when editing. I move often back and forth between HD to SD projects, and I always assumed this contributed to the MXO2 LE Max losing its mind occasionally.

Just this morning, I booted up to a SD 16:9 project only to have the Matrox box not display the image to my Vizio monitor for the longest time…finally jumped to another sequence and it “woke up.”

Yeah, what Chris said…sounds like you didn’t choose an SD Widescreen sequence to work in.

Another obvious thing, but make sure your playback resolution is set to full on the output.

Phocas, thank you for answering my question. While I would certainly not prefer to have to razor my timeline all to pieces, it sure beats having to re-render the entire thing. DL is a very good idea, but in this one area alone, it could use some improvement.

Thanks Tom. First of all, I’m probably under-RAM’ed…I only have 12GB. Yes, I do have to RAM preview in AE, I understand that. But, what I can’t understand is how just taking this linked clip back in PPro and keyframing a 15 frame fade forces the entire linked comp to re-render! At the same length of time it took to render the first pass! Is that normal behavior? Because if it is, then that’s no faster than the old export/import racket.

Thanks for the replies. It must be something specific to my box or preferences. I’m not in front of it for a few days, but when I get back I will attach some screen grabs of what I’m talking about. I was hoping that this was a common issue and I was just missing something.

  • You could always try downloading Sony’s XDCAM EX Clip Browser and creating .MXF files with that. But, I believe it only “sees” camera original files. So, if XDCAM EX Clip Browser doesn’t see them, and you can’t import the .MOV files you have, then the files may have been corrupted. Does QT play them?
