Another question if possible… I’m trying to animate this logo, that involves 3 letters, “imp”. The “i” appears, and then I want the “m” to slide out of the “i” from left to right.
So, I’ve put a mask on the “m” layer, and am trying to keyframe sliding out of that mask, but the mast moves with me. How do I make the mask stay, while I move the letter out of the mask?
Thank You!!

May 29, 2016 at 12:15 pm in reply to: Tough roto brush project. can I lock my roto, and adjust contrast? Thanks Dave,
what do you mean by use the layer as a matte for the original footage?
Do you mean, duplicate the layer first? Do I have to do something special to it, or am I just making an extra copy of the layer, and the doing a roto on the top layer? does the technique have a name, that I could google for a tutorial if its something unique?
Thanks again

I’m not getting paid for this, so I’m looking pretty cheap, but I might spend a little bit if it will make a big difference.

February 27, 2012 at 10:57 pm in reply to: Clips from tape imported with AIC. Does sequence setting have to match? So, I’ve changed all my settings for future, but when making the highest quality Master for those sequences where footage was compressed with AIC, should I use ProRes as the compressor in the sequence settings? Or should I just leave it at AIC, which the sequence is currently using.

February 20, 2012 at 1:23 am in reply to: Best settings to export lossless master from FCP7? Professional archive workflow suggestions? That makes sense, I’ll do that in the future.
When I check my sequence settings, I see that in the, Quicktime Video Settings, Apple ProRes 422 is selected as the compressor at a quality of 100%. I think that was default. Should I change it to, “Apple ProRes 422 HQ” for better quality, and is ProRes better than all the other options?
Thanks!

February 20, 2012 at 1:11 am in reply to: Vector Magic equivilent for video? (rotoscoping?) – Waking Life; A Scanner DarklyThat tutorial is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. Not a big fan of the cartoon effect.. maybe I need to fool around with it a bit more or combine it with other stuff. Using an image sequence in illustrator sounds like it will give me the control and options I want.
Thanks!
