    It happens with 6.5 and the newest version. I have discovered that the Animation codec works, but it is creates a very large file size.

    I do see it in RAM preview and rendered. It’s SD 720X480 D1 29.97, but it does it at any settings. The strange thing is, once the layer is pre-composed, it plays smoothly, which is an OK work-around, I guess.

    Where do you change the rendering frame or field only, and does that affect ram preview?

    It’s DVCPRO HD captured with the AJA. I just checked it on another computer, and there’s the same problem, so I don’t think it’s a video card problem. Also, I’ve noticed that when I change from Full to Half resolution (or anything below Full) the footage goes back to the way it should look.

    It’s a 4 x 2.5 GHz G5 with 4 GB DDR2 SDRAM and I’m using AE 6.5
    The footage is 1920 X 1080 29.97

    Also, this happens only with HD footage it seems.
