Not sure what’s going on with your configuration. I have 3 Maxtor Maxlines in my Mac Pro 2.66 – Apple RAID 0 – read 192 / write 190 – 840 GB storage. I did set the RAID for 256K block size. There must be something with the WD’s. Can you exchange or return them?

Thanks. That did it! I played around with arrangement and found a combination of the 3 monitors that works. Not the best choice for how I wanted to move between monitors, but it resolves the issues.

    Jo,
I think I read in one of the forums that the OS installed on your machine may not be the same build version as on your install disks (newer build version on the disks). For what it’s worth, the Mac Pro is working fine for me with the 5.7 software and 10.4.7 OS, Build 8K1079.

    Good luck

Sounds like there was a audio handoff between Apple and BMD hardware that used to work, but doesn’t on the new Mac Pro. We’ll probably see Apple or BMD coming out with an update to address this.

    Hi Noah,
I should clarify my audio settings. In the Sound Pref pane, I have mine set to “Built-in Line Output”. I run a line out of the Mac Pro to the audio mixer and monitor Mac audio at the mixer. Final Cut audio travels out the Decklink cables to the mixer on its own mixer inputs. That may be the difference. Hope you’re able to get your audio issue resolved.

I’m on the 2.66 Mac Pro and same current software, and BMD HD Extreme card. No issues with sound in other apps. Haven’t tried DVD Studio Pro yet.

No joy. Composite out of deck to monitor direct is fine. Composite into BMD card -Y in, ref on analog out – no good. Tried DSR-20 sync both ways. Image is B&W with color flickering on and off occasionally. I should mention I’m on a MacPro. Don’t know if that makes a difference. Don’t have the S-video breakout cables to try route that yet.

Just finished a show that was a mix of sources, Beta SP, Digibeta, DVCAM (shot with my Sony Z1U). I digitized the DVCAM in from my Z1U via component cable through BMD card 8bit uncompressed. The difference was noticeable compared to digitizing it via firewire. I had done some testing prior to the edit to determine which codec I was going to work in to avoid having multiple codecs in the timeline.
