    Thanks for the tips, guys. Modifying the alpha type helped, but it didn’t seem to 100% eliminate the black.

    Based on your advice, I’m rendering out the alpha channels out from AE as “straight.” That may be the solution.

    Roto layer? Right now all I can think to do is mask the ones far away from the action and use the eraser tools when they come into contact with someone.

    Is there a way to use the tracking info to make that process easier?

    Thanks, Jim. I’m sure the solution lies in changing the Replace Method to “Source” and perhaps combining that with some masking.

    You guys have been so helpful. Our editor won’t be loading the actual footage in for a little while, but once we have a rough cut, don’t be surprised if I pop back in with a more definitive example to better annoy you with.
