All you need to do is go into your effects presets and select “Transform” then select “Horizontal Flip”. Of course if there’s any writing on the plane it will be backwards.

    Thats it;)

I cant stand interlacing! and I never use it unless I am forced to by a local TV station for commercials.

Progressive is the way to go!

Can you post a still frame? Of course you CAN Rotoscope anything out of a clip but it will be painstaking process.

Would still like to see a still Frame though.

When I want to check my work or let some of my peers see it for peer review I usually export as a simple MPEG1, It work great for checking everything out and is a small file.

If the avi footage is HD then that is your problem. If it is SD then that is very strange, PPro should have no problem playing a SD avi clip.

Does the clip play alright in Windows Media Player?

Please give us more info about the video like: Length, files size, SD or HD.

    Wow!

You’ll never get those to play correctly at that size IMO, What format are they? They should be either MT2 or MPEG2’s. I know you’re not gonna want to hear this but I would re-capture the footage at say 3 to 5 minute clips each so you aren’t trying to bring in a 25GB file?

The workload for such a large file is very taxing on and computer and wil most likely not work.

You also need to make sure the files are NOT uncommpressed like an AVI.

I have the XL2 as well but I’m not sure I get what you’re asking, if you mean that you did an interview while music was playing in the background and it was recorded with the speaking of the subject then theres really nothing you can do other than maybe try to EQ out the music frequency as much as possible. Will be very difficult though.

If you mean something eles please let us know.

  • If you’re just asking if you can scale down the talking heads and place them in front of the opening video then yes you can, you could also add movement of these clips as well very easily.

Just place your clip on the timeline and select it.
Then click the “effects” Tab (next to the source monior tab) and click “Motion”. That will give you a Scale option as well as Position and Opacity options.

Scale the Talking Head video to what you’d like and you can even Keyframe the position to move where ever you’d like.

Now if you’re meaning something completely different like just masking out a floating head or something then let me know, I’m still not quite sure what you mean by “floating”.

    Let me know;)

What format are these clips? and What format will you be outputting/exporting it to?

    Thats very important to know.

I must say that those pixel dimentions are extremely taxing on a system.
