    Hello,

After importing an AVI video file and placing it on the time line, I pressed play and the video is frozen in the first frame and it just shakes a little bit. However, I can hear the audio. this happens even while pressing play on the imported video screen just prior to placing the video on the time line. I am running windows 7 and I have 3GB of RAM. any help would be much appreciated. thank you

If the avi footage is HD then that is your problem. If it is SD then that is very strange, PPro should have no problem playing a SD avi clip.

Does the clip play alright in Windows Media Player?

Please give us more info about the video like: Length, files size, SD or HD.
