Glad I could help. That’s why we’re here at the Cow. Moo!

I can see you and the guy in the directors cut didn’t use chromakeying. The guy walking in second has a reflection in the tv, not keyed. You have floor shadows which the Vegas chromakey feature doesn’t do. As long as the camera settings (manual mode I hope) it’s position and the lighting don’t change and you and shadows don’t overlap each other like your doing when you both are singing on the same mic, you can use event pan and crop with the setting set like in my pic, uncheck the two boxes in red and set the others in red to no, you can crop each of you left and right to take up only their space. This way you won’t have to lower the video level on upper tracks to see the ones below, I assume that’s what your doing. If the lighting or camera position is changed at all, you will be able to see a seam where one of you stops and another starts. Hope this helps, Danny

Render as AVI, (Default)uncompressed, click custom and at the bottom check render alpha channel. Uncompressed only.
Then when you import it back to the timeline, right click on the video event on the timeline and click properties. In the media tab, set alpha channel to Straight (unmatted). You should now see your background video, and the transparent part of the event on the timeline will be checkerboard. Hope this helps, Dany Hays -
Even though your hard drive space is dangerously low, Vegas won’t change the render quality for that. Also Vegas won’t let you over write a render preset, so It’s still there. What are your source and render formats?

That’s strange. I have the Shuttle and Vegas plays through it fine. I was using HDMI. Can you post a screen pic of what it looks like? maybe we’ll be able to help then.

One of the more popular and best ones is Camtasia. It’s pricy but very good. Here’s a link to several others.

What Steve is saying is default Vegas 10 install preview is set to automaticly lower the quality and higher framerate. Right click in the preview picture and you’ll see where you can uncheck this and make the preview stay at what you set it to.

You say you captured it uncompressed. Do you have a raid array to handle the bandwidth needed for that format?

Have you tried using Media Express to capture as motion jpeg? Just to see if it’s premier causing this. Also make sure your capturing to a different drive other than your OS drive. If your USB 3 port wasn’t fast enough, It probably wouldn’t even let you install it. I have an i7 930 6 gig ram Asus P6x58D-premium MB and have no problems capturing as mjpeg. Let us know, Danny Hays

Try setting your project settings to Progressive scan and interlace type, blend.
