[Linda O'Connell] “How are people shooting a computer screen when they show a software tutorial on You Tube? (They are explaining how to do something on a computer and it is showing the software in action) Their videos are so clear so I don’t think they are just filming the screen.”
I use Camtasia 7. It is well worth the money if you do a lot of tutorials. As Danny said there are free alternatives like CamStudio but what you are paying for in Camtasia 7 is a high quality lossless codec and a nice editor. I personally don’t use the editor much because I edit all of my tutorials in Vegas Pro 10 but the editor in Camtasia makes quick work of zooming the screen and adding annotations. You can download a free trial and see for yourself.
If you can’t afford Camtasia, try Jing. It’s made by the same people and it’s free! (but it doesn’t have the great codec).
