  • It may just be he needs a stereo audio stream on his end. Did you stream video with a mono audio stream? As John does, I use mostly Presonus audio interfaces, but mine are 1 Firepod, 2 Inspires and 1 Digidesign Mbox 2 mini. The Mbox works with Vegas as well if you have the correct windows driver installed for it. Danny

I really like the results with the 1-click Vegas to Handbrake script. I do have to Click on the Start button after Hand Break analyzes the source file and it appears in the destination line. Everything else happens automatically like the description in the link in Wayne Waags post. Is this the same with you all?

There are some great ideas here I like, Cross platform being a top one. Also if Vegas had a decent chromakey effect with a spill suppressor and the ability to have a midi track trigger an audio track with a sampler on it like Sony Acid already does, A person, like myself would be able to create a music video production without ever having to leave Sony Vegas! It would also be the first and only program that would DO IT ALL! Best regards, Danny Hays

This is great news. I have used Vegas since it was audio only. If you add a good chromakey effect and add the ability to have a midi track trigger a sampler in an audio track, like Sony Acid does, I would never have to leave Sony Vegas from beginning to the end of a Music video production. It would also be the only NLE that would do it all.
    Best regards Eric. Danny

I gather you need ProRes for a delivery format. Premiere handles most format types but has a problem with some .mts files and won’t import the audio with the video. Two of my AVCHD cameras capture .mts files and I have to import them into Vegas and render out a wav file and import that separately into Premiere. If you’re switching to premiere and using ProRes files, you may want to eventually switch to a Mac, at least for your video work. They are more reliable and usually the standard OS for video editing, and you can run Windows on it at the same time using Parallels. Do some research on it as it’s very interesting reading. Hi Don. Since your camera doesn’t have HDMI out but does have component and audio out via two cables I hope you have, and your Ninja 2 has only HDMI in, yes you will need a converter. I did some research on Component to HDMI and cannot find cables that do that. There are HDMI to component cables. I found a converter box that should work for you. I gather you using a Mac since you Ninja does ProRes or DNxHD Encoding and Playback. Have you captured any 1920 x 1080 via the HDMI on it on it yet? If so, can your computer handle it without dropping frames? If so,check out this link. This method captures straight from the imager and bypasses the 1440 x 1080 HDV compression, at least with my Intensity shuttle it does.

This is just one of several converters I found. Let us know if this helps. Danny Hays

Where did the post edit ability go? It used to let me edit a post for 30 minutes after I posted it, or someone responds to it.

Hi Mark. I’m big time into green screen work. I think I know your Problem. I have created a simulation like yours but this simulation, I’m only doing it for the right side. You will do it for the left as well. I cropped off the right side of my video in the event pan and crop with the pen tool. see pic 1. This is what you have on both sides. I added a video track above the video track and add a media generated solid color green, and used the eye dropper to make it the same green as in my video. I then used that tracks track motion, unchecked “Lock aspect ratio” and made a vertical rectangle and positioned it to cover the black bar on the right. See pic 2. I then added the croma keyer effect to both, video and solid green tracks. You should use the eye dropper and ppic the green in the track it on. Then do the same for the other track. You may have to solo each one to get the true green on each track see pics 3 and 4. I hope this makes sence to you and you get the results you want. Unfortunatly Sony Vegas’s Chroma Keyer effect is not very good unles yoou have perfect lighting and no shadows on or wrinkles in your cardboard plate. Let us know if this helps. Danny
