Yes, I can het very good guality mp4s by increasing the bitrate.

I have the Shuttle, and sometimes it say no hardware found. I can unplug the USB 3 and recconect and I’m good. Have you tried newer or older software and firmware with this card?

AVCHD? A core duo 6700 @ 2.66mhgz could handle HDV. If it’s AVCHD, you can render each file as DV widescreen proxies, edit those easily, then replace the files before rendering from your project media files tab. Right click and select replace. To edit AVCHD, you really need an i7.

You can watch some movies, music videos, whatever, and get some good ideas. Vegas can do almost anything you may see.

I agree with Daniel as DVDA is the prefered way by Sony and many Vegas users, and the .ac3 audio can be surround sound if you desire.
If you don’t have or want to use DVDA, you can render as “DVD NTSC OR PAL” which has the audio in the file already, and use any DVD burning software you may have. Hope this helps, Danny Hays -
I’ve only used batch capture and cliplog with mu old DV Canon GL1, and I had to record all the way through with each new tape to put timecode on it. Normally with the lens cap on and in a quiet room. Then I could rewind it and capture to tape as normal but the original linear timecode remained on the tape. Batch capture needs this timecode in order for it to work. I use a BlackMagic Intensity Shuttle to capture from my HDV camera but straight from the imager without tape. I capture as BlackMagic Motion JPEG avi and bypass the m2t compression. It has a much better quality than m2t, no mpeg compression artifacts. Once it’s captured to tape, it’s already compressed as m2t and I may as well capture via firewire, and could probably take advantage of the batch capture ability, although I never did this with my HDV camera.

I don’t think so, but you can crop one, save it as a preset, the apply it to each. Little faster that way.

Try the color curve plug-in.

That’s happened to me before. I unplugged the Shuttle and plugged it back in.
