There are some effects in the text menus called glow I think that will put a black or any color glow aroung the text and makes it readable without having to put a solid rectangle that blocks viewable video. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

Try the 3 mbps video template in the WMV menu. This makes WMV videos that look almost as good as the source video. Hope this helps.

Have you tried system restoring to a time before the divx update?

You can slow down or spead up the video to match the audio if it’s out by a small amount. Hold control and drag the edge of the video to match the audio. If an edit has resulted in the sync problem, You can split the video event, and sync each part seperatly. Hope this helps. Danny Hays

Cineform files are difficult for most computers to play back and are designed for use in further ediding. You can leave it as .m2t format and play with VLC a free player. Danny Hays

Drag the audio event so it syncs up at the beginning, then hold control and drag the right edge of the video event to the left to shorten it or right if the video ends before the audio. This speeds up or slows down the video so you can get the whole thing in sync. If it’s only off by a few msecs you wont notice that in the video when you shorten or lengthen it. Hope this helps. I would try the save as type, AVC/AAC (*mp4) then drop the template down and select 320 x 240 for Ipod. Hope this helps Danny Hays

Hello, I believe the Sony will be 1080i and the JVC will be 720p, Not sure about the Canon. No problems with Vegas though. I normally set my project settings to progressive as my Sony HVR-A1 is 1080i and fast moving subjects in interlaced video on an LCD screen looks terribe IMO. Plus if your going to chromakey, interlaced video is very dificult to do. One other thing. If your computer is not a newer dual core, you can convert the HDV files to Cineform AVI files. This codec has come with Sony Vegas since ver. 7 I believe. It’s a lossles format that can handle multiple renders, chromakeying better than the native m2t files HDV cameras output. Hope this helps. You can put motion blur at the end of the dart blow clip with it zoomed in, keyframe it moving one way, with a fade out. Then on another track, do the same thing at the beginning with a fade in, and keyframe it moving from the same direction. Overlap the tracks the same amount as the fades to make it look like a transition.

In ther future, It’s best to put as much distance between the subject and the screen as possible and use some back lighting on the subject. This will greatly reduce the spill and make it easy for keying.
